Abstract:

Central to understanding any species or group of species is the manner in
which they reproduce‚ and by extension‚ the manner and frequencies with
which males and females interact with one another and with members of their
own sex. Group formation and interactions among group members provide
insight into individual reproductive strategies. Unique social groupings within
a genus are significant because they expand the spectrum of behavioral
possibilities and‚ more importantly‚ provide greater context for behavioral
patterns of other species within the genus.
