Abstract:

Groups ranging in age from 60 to 360 days were compared. The ability to learn the 1st object discrimination presented to them increased with age to an asymptote at approximately 150 days, while learning set acquisition was below the adult level in all groups, and was practically nonexistent in the youngest groups. Performance on delayed response problems improved as a function of age, apparently to an asymptote at about 9 months.
