Abstract:
African and Asiatic Wild Asses (Equus africanus and E. hemionus) live in unstable groups or herds of variable composition. Some of the adult stallions are territorial in large territories in which they tolerate other ♂ ♂. The territorial ♂ ♂ are dominant over all their conspecifics.
